The Influence1 Foundation is the sponsor of the school. In order to ensure its full support, City University is a division within the 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Influence1 provides service-communities with resources and benefits relevant to sustaining educational enrichment, community development and economic empowerment. These objectives are aimed to lessen the burden of local, state and federal government as they regard public education, community revitalization and crime/risk reduction in urban communities.

Shelby County Schools (SCS)
Shelby County Schools is the Local Education Agency (LEA) for charter schools in the City of Memphis and Shelby County area. SCS is a world class public education system offering a rich array of services, Pre-K-16; there are many internal and external advocates, the products are highly valued; City and County education, governmental, business, and community entities always work together to solve challenges and to advance the common good.
