In 2004, City University was founded with the mission of preparing its students with the necessary skills to be twenty-first-century scholars and citizens. From its humble beginnings of 63 scholars to its many alumni, City University has a lot to celebrate.
To ensure its mission, City University fosters an academically rigorous learning environment that is supportive of all scholars and their pursuits of post-secondary education. Our curriculum enables and empowers scholars with the ability to achieve in any environment.
Our scholar alumni network is growing and with each year more graduates leave City University and attend college or pursuit other post-secondary opportunities.
College Acceptance and Matriculation
May 2018 marked the tenth anniversary of the first graduating class. City University has a 100% college acceptance rate. Our commitment to college preparation has produced the largest number of charter school scholars in the state of Tennessee. City University scholars have garnered scholarships and acceptances to colleges and universities all over the United States.
City University scholars have collectively earned more than $100 million in scholarships since 2008. 27 scholars have been individually awarded $1 million or more in scholarships. City University scholars attend many of Tennessee’s colleges and universities, but scholars also receive offers from New York University, Wabash, Amherst, St. Louis University, Boston University, Ithaca College, University of California, Morehouse, Spelman, and others.
