Athletics Philosophy
At City University Schools, we consider athletics to be an integral part of the educational experience, providing opportunities that will help scholar-athletes develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. We view the competition of athletics as a healthy, educational and physiological activity because it challenges each scholar to excel, to discover his or her physical limits, and to work cooperatively with team members. While winning is a natural goal in the pursuit of excellence, the principles of good sportsmanship and the enjoyment of competition take precedence at all times and enhance the educational value of contests.
Athletics Overview
Participation on an athletic team can be a rewarding and meaningful educational experience that enhances a child’s education. City University Schools is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all our scholar athletes as they prepare themselves for college, career, and life. We are blessed to have excellent professor-coaches, quality facilities, and community spirit and support. Our scholar-athletes are committed to reaching their full potential through practice and hard work. We instill in our scholars the desire and ability to be the best – in the classroom and on the field. Through their experience they learn to work as a team, set goals, and never give up.
Scholars and parents who are interested in being involved in the City University's athletic program are encouraged to contact the City University Athletic Department. For information on statistics and future sporting events, please visit our athletics website.
