Overview
Parent engagement at City University is a shared responsibility in which our commitment to reaching out to parents in meaningful ways is matched by the commitment of parents actively supporting their children’s learning and development.
Parent engagement occurs when we involve parents in school meetings or events, and parents volunteer their support at home and on campus. In doing so, parents commit to prioritizing their child’s educational goals and City University commits to collaborating with parents—which ultimately enriches our scholars’ learning experience.
Multiple studies prove that scholars whose parents are actively engaged in their education are more likely to earn higher grades and test scores; graduate from high school and attend post-secondary education, as well as, develop self-confidence and motivation in and out of the classroom. City University understands engaged parents are essential for the success of our scholars and schools.
