Scholar Experience
Scholar engagement can be defined as meaningful scholar involvement that occurs when scholars invest their energy and commitment to learning, both within and outside the classroom. Through such an investment they willingly put forth the effort necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Such an effort is imperative as engaged students are more likely to perform well on standardized tests and are less likely to drop out of school.
City University is committed to the development of the whole scholar. That is, the development of every scholar’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical potential. We want our scholars to be engaged both in and out of the classroom. Whether it is joining a club, attending a campus event, attending a sports game, or getting involved in the community, scholars have many opportunities to find their niche on an off campus. Ultimately, scholars learn about themselves and the world around them while developing skills necessary for school and life. Collectively, these experiences help our scholars make the most of their City University experience.
